The Zilveren family consists on myself and my son, Jared. Our dogs
are family to us and live in the home with us. They are actively involved
in our lives from attending Jared's ballgames, to visiting family, to
going on canoe and camping trips. At dog shows you might see my
mom (MawMaw) and many of our friends cheering us on! We lost my
grandmother (Nana) unexpectedly to cancer Christmas of 2010. We
know that she has the best seat in the house at our shows and still
cheers us on from above. During show season we welcome Junior
handlers to join us and use our dogs to show and are glad to have them!
Gina
Gina worked in a vet clinic as kennel help the summer after high school
and was soon asked to help in the grooming area. She had no idea
then that would instill a love for working with dogs that would lead
ultimately to a career change 10 years later. Gina has shown dogs
since her first pup in 2003. Though she graduated David Lipscomb
in 2006 she works as a full-time groomer and as a handler on the
weekends. She will be eligible to apply as an AKC judge in a few
more years and intends to do so. Read more on Gina's page.
Jared
Jared grew up a "ring rat" being dragged to shows from a very young
age and working as unpaid kennel help. In 2009, he earned and thus
acquired his first show dog,, a Pug named Contender (Puggy). Their
first weekend they took 1st and 2nd place ribbons over professional
handlers and at their next show Winners Dog and Best of Winners
again over seasoned handlers. We expect big things from these two!
